Chocolate Damsel Has Been Released!

I am so excited this book has been released, dear readers. It was a joy to work on--thanks in great part to the fabulous a.c. Mason, the author--and is my favorite story to date from her imagination. Although, I did love Aequitas I: Betrayal and Aequitas II: Punishment, her first two books.  And of those, it was a toss up choosing my fave... Hmm. There's nothing wrong with an editor loving every one of her author's books, is there?
I didn't think so, and thank God, because Chocolate Temptation, the second in the Wolf Spirit Series is sooo good too.
But I digress. This is about Chocolate Damsel, released May 2nd from Lyrical Press. Get a load of this cover:

Beautiful, isn't it?
Here's a little bit about the story to entice you.

Will her love break through his armor so he can be whole again?

In June of 1940, Nazis march into Paris, France. Brutality haunts the streets.

Engel VanWolf, the Alpha of a Shunu pack - immortals, who shift into wolf-spirit - has a painful past and the patch on his eyes serves as a reminder of human cruelty. No stranger to injustice, he poses as a Nazi officer to smuggle Jewish orphans from the city. Drawn to a seductive fragrance, chocolate skin, and velvet voice, VanWolf comes upon a human beauty, Alexia, in danger. A hunger long forgotten burns anew inside him.

Alexia Pane is taken in by the shunu pack, and finds communal living isn’t the only thing they share. When danger comes knocking, she’s sent to warn VanWolf, who has been discovered but needs rescuing of her own. As he whisks her to safety, he awakens her dormant passion. It’s not the flames of the city she fears, but the fire he invokes inside her. The closer she gets, the more he pushes her away. And then, she falls into enemy hands.

Can VanWolf save the woman he loves from a ruthless enemy and mend the pain he has caused?

Warning; This book contains a hot Alpha with an eye patch. A chocolate damsel in need of saving. A pack that shares more than communal living. F/M/F/M. A pack with no lack of hot betas to follow.

Want a little more? Here ya go.

Alexia’s stomach twisted. Soldiers marched up the pathway to the chateau. Her legs hurt from the pace Griselda kept directing her to the river’s edge. She couldn’t remember the last hour. Griselda had put her to sleep to hide a message for her brother that no one but he could retrieve on her body.
A large wolf with white fur, the hairs black tipped, watched from a distance. Cathen.
“Where are you going?” Griselda probed her for the fourth time.
“The core of Paris to see Engel VanWolf on rue Saint Antoine.” Over the past few days, the pack had become family to her. Any one of them would lay down their life for her. Now this was her chance to show them she too would do the same for them. Being caught meant death and failure. Not an option.
“Good. Do your best to stay out of sight. Cathen will watch over you as long as he can.” Griselda hugged her tight, nearly crushing her.
A kiss to each cheek was all Alexia would allow before she turned. “Your brother and I will meet up with you shortly.” She said those words as much for Griselda as herself, then took off jogging.
Dusk fell. At least the night would provide her cover. Water splashed on her boots, but she wouldn’t leave the banks of the riverbed. Down there, she could mask her scent from the werewolves the pack had warned her about.
She sensed Cathen stop. A howl carried on the breeze as though he told her to stay low and out of sight. His strong energy moved away, paused.
“I’ll be fine,” she whispered under her breath, in hopes it would ease his conscience and act as a silent prayer for her.
The male presence vanished.
Dark puffs of smoke rose into the sky. Red from the explosions reflected off the grayish clouds. The world had gone insane, and she was trapped deep in the belly of madness.
If she died tonight, she’d fail the pack. She refused to.
Male voices above her startled her. She pressed her body to the dirt and rock, trying to remain out of sight. An engine rumbled. Please God, spare her so she could help the pack. The vehicle slowed down. Thunder pounded inside her chest. Her hands trembled and breathing grew labored.
They sped off, casting dirt. She tucked in close to avoid the spray.
As she drew closer to the city, she picked up her pace. Daylight faded in the distance. A few stars managed to shine through the thick covering of smoke in the sky.
At this very moment, she’d have made a deal with the devil himself to make it through the night, but it seemed he had no interest in her. Would she die? If she did, would her life be considered a waste? Her accomplishments were little to nothing. She needed to make a difference in the world.
At least the darkness provided her a veil.
The outer streets of the city were vacant but for the patrolling soldiers. Back home, most would be barely old enough to vote, or enlist. Children fought at the front lines of wars.
How she longed for the suffering to end. Somehow, this only felt like the beginning. Death driven by the desire for a pure race. She was the furthest thing from being untainted. If caught, she too would be cleansed from the earth.

Sufficiently intrigued now? Good. Go check it out at www.lyricalpress.com. It's right there on the first page under New This Week. You can catch up with Mason at a.c. Mason.com and Nights of Passion too, where she's a regular blogger.

I'm so excited for Rhonda! This story is sexy and fun, yet tugs at the heartstrings too. Just what we love in romance!
Here's a teaser to whet your appetite:

A few weeks of great sex, sure. A lifetime of danger--hell no.

Running the family campground was the last thing Brock Chandler wanted. But, when it’s dumped on him, he makes big plans. Incorporating extreme sports into the thriving business is his top priority…until his grandfather, the majority stockholder, says he has a corporate buyer and wants to sell.

Delaney Breaux is giving up the rat race in Manhattan and heading home to New Orleans. Leaving her job as a busy marketing executive is the one thing she’ll miss. Spending a few weeks with her about-to-be-married best friend seems like a good transition. Instead it turns into an adventurous detour.

Brock Chandler is a walking ad for danger, and she’s lived her life for security. When their worlds collide for a second time anything can happen.

Content warning: This story contains explicit sex, strong language, and men who live for danger.

New and Exciting

I've been terribly remiss with blogging, but now that the holiday craziness is over and I'm settling into the day job again, I'm back on track.  Feels good. :)
First congratulations are due to "my" authors with recent releases, SW Vaughn and a.c. Mason!
SW Vaughn's Shades of Black released December 6, 2010 with Lyrical Press, and features Dell Ramone, a smart, sexy transvestite who has it all. Until her worst nightmare returns in the form of Loyal Sims, who systematically strips everything she holds dear from her in the most vicious and horrifying ways.
Once again, SW Vaughn has created fabulous characters. They are so real, and the story...well, you'll be saying "Oh my God!" out loud every time the plot turns. Best not to read it in church or a library or you'll be given the hairy eyeball and getting shushed continually.
This is the fourth in the House Phoenix urban fantasy series, and let me tell you, no less intense than Broken Angel, Devil's Honor and Mask of the Serpent. It grabs you by the throat and holds you captive until the last word. I'm thrilled to have Alpha Male, the fifth in the House Phoenix series coming up for edits. Jenner is just the coolest character. I wonder what he's been up to lately...
a.c. Mason has done it again as well, with Aequitas II: Punishment, which released January 17th. Auria and Grant are back, and up to their hineys in conflict. Of biblical proportions. Not only are their necks and childrens' lives on the line, and the love they bear each other, but the fate of  the universe. The aequitas are in a battle for their freedom, and their opponent? God. a.c. Mason has created their unseen world with such skill, she makes me believe. You will too.
She's such a versatile author, and next from her imagination comes Chocolate Damsel. Sexy, exciting, intriguing, it's a paranormal romance featuring a tough, smoking hot hero fighting inner demons as he struggles not to fall for brave, totally lovable Alexia during Paris's darkest days in WWII.
Both these amazing authors' books can be found at www.lyricalpress.com
Do check out Shades of Black and Aequitas II: Punishment, and add two "keepers" to your library!

Ta-daaaaah!

Major kudos and happy dancing all around to Daisy Banks for her first release with Lyrical Press, A Matter of Some Scandal on Monday, October 18th.

There's a sea of Regency romances out there, dear readers, but Ms. Bank's creation stands well above them. Her characters are so much fun. They say, "Hang convention, I'm going to get what I want," and then do it. At the risk of freedom, wealth and their very lives. Not to mention reputation in society.

In those days, as readers of Regencies know, reputation was everything. Fortunes rose and fell, lives were destroyed or made with a nod from the right person or a hint of scandal. A liason, especially sexual, could ruin a young woman's life and brand a man a rake. Being a wonderful writer, Ms. Banks of course tortures her hero and heroine with all these things.

Pru is no shy retiring miss, but a young widow. All she wants is to live her life in relative peace. But Argyle, her one-time true love, won't let her. From the first paragraph, he sets her teeth on edge and wrenches her heart. Then the story gets really good.                                                                                                                                                               .
Historical lovers, A Matter of Some Scandal is for you. Romance readers who've never tried a historical, this is for you too. It's novella length, with plenty of steamy scenes, heartbreak and rapier wit. You'll feel as if you're in Georgian England, and want to cheer Pru on in her quest to show Argyle Clairmonte hell hath no fury like Prudence Wellbourn scorned. If only Argyle wasn't so scorchingly hot though, and didn't know how to push all her buttons, it wouldn't be so frustrating for poor dear Pru. Hah! Enjoy yourselves, dear readers. You won't be able to help it. :)

Whoop, Whoop, Ms. Piper!

Today's the day, folks! Fallen Star Trouble by Autumn Piper releases at Lyrical Press. Note the beautiful cover to the left--awesome, isn't it? I promised you hot guys in cover art, and Brady definitely delivers. :-)
So cue the confetti and rousing band music! Personally, I feel more like Kermit the frog at the beginning of every Muppet Show. Ya know how he'd wave his skinny green arms and shout "Yaaaaayyy!"? Well, that's me, minus the skinny green arms of course. Mine are white, and other things wave when I flail them about like that.
Sorry. Bad mental image.
I absolutely love this book. Here's a few morsels to get your reader-ly juices flowing:

Even a supernova can shine again.
A chance meeting between chart-topping  pop star Brady and rebellious Cara--out to sow her wild oats--leads to one unforgettable night in Las Vegas. The next day, Cara runs home to family responsibility, unaware of Brady’s search for her and his slip into a steep downward spiral. Life leaves them no choice but to pick up the pieces and move on…until they meet again, nine years later.

Cara’s engaged, ready to settle into a quiet and normal life. Having Brady re-enter the scene doesn’t figure into her big picture. But Brady’s finally found what he needs to re-ignite his music career, and he’s not about to leave it behind. He’ll have to show Cara, with her help, even a supernova can shine again.

Content warning; snoopy small-towners, pestilent paparazzi, meddling relatives, second chances, and one hot rockstar.

You can find this book and the others in the Trouble Series at www.lyricalpress.com

Congratulations to Autumn, a talented author who's never lost sight of her goals, has worked incredibly hard at perfecting her craft and whose stick-to-it-ive-ness (Yes, we make up words here.) continually amazes me. And who I just love to pieces as a friend. Rock on, girlfriend!

In the Works

I'm editing three books now, Shades of Black by S.W Vaughn, Aequitas II: Punishment by a.c. Mason and A Matter of Some Scandal by Daisy Banks.
For S. W Vaughn fans, just wait. Shades of Black has all the intensity of Broken AngelDevil's Honor and Mask of the Serpent. And the most unscrupulous, diabolical villain ever. He will give you chills, make you gasp in shock and pray for Dell Ramone to win out over his evil. And that's all I'm going to say for now because there's a twist in this story that will blow your mind. It did mine. Put the kids to bed early and turn off the cellphone. You'll be pulling an all-nighter with this one.
And a.c. Mason has struck again with Aequitas II: Punishment. If you like paranormals with power, that intrigue and take you beyond yourself into another world, this one is for you. It continues the story of Grant and Auria, and this time, the fate of the universe as we know it hangs in the balance. And the sex scenes...whew! Get yourself a fan ahead of time. Or plenty of ice cubes. It's fast-paced and wonderful, and her characters are fuller and more complex than ever. She's a writer who's really come into her own and shouldn't be overlooked.
Daisy Banks is a new author with Lyrical, and right now, we're near the end of the editing cycle with her historical romance novella A Matter of Some Scandal. For those of you looking for a good historical, prepare to lose yourself in England in the Georgian era. I just love a feisty heroine, and Pru fits the bill. She's given up on love and men--in particular Argyle Clairmonte, who ripped her heart out when she needed him most. Well, he's back, and this time he's not taking 'no' for an answer. He'll do anything to win her heart, even give his life. It's a hot, fun romance with plenty of flying sparks. Two words to tease you: bathtub scene. 'Nuff said.
